Once Woody calmed down and seemed to get used to a kitty in his house…which was 2 days later!! we finally let Woody and Karen meet…without the kennel between them. Woody ran straight up to the cat and got a swat across his nose, oops! Although the cat bolted for safety under the couch, Woody still got a swipe when he stuck his nose under there, haha! Which seemed to make Woody more determined than ever to meet him! Woody was slow to understand that the cat is so much smaller than him, but now he is more gentle when he approaches the cat.

Woody’s favorite thing is to be chased when he has a toy in his mouth – and for some reason he thinks that if he steals the toy the cat is playing with, then the cat will pursue him…this has not happened yet, and Karen doesn’t seem too interested to ever do it either!  So all in all, things have progress nicely, minus a few swats to doggie’s nose, and I am happy with their budding friendship. Admittedly, I was nervous that the dog would be too aggressive in his playing, but a few little love-swats seemed to actually be good for him!
